NOT FOR EATING
This bird feeder is very easy to make. This activity would make for an excellent project for Scouts, 4-H Club, or for making a gift. Of course, you could just make one for yourself and hang it outside your window.
Supplies needed:
1 13-ounce coffee can
1 spray can – enamel paint
1 Dowell stick – 10 inches long
2 plastic tops to fit coffee can
Directions:
- Use can opener to remove bottom of can.
- Cut plastic tops on dotted line.
- Dad or supervising adult: Make a hole to insert dowel through the plastic top.
- Place plastic tops on each end of can. Insert dowel.
- Spray paint if desired.
Note: If the supervising adult is handy with a saw, cut wood pieces to fit into open ends of the can. Nail the wood pieces into the open end of the can with small nails.
