2 crusts of puff pastry (frozen isle of supermarket)
3 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons of almond powder almonds chopped (as finely as possible in food processor)
A little milk (to pinch crust)
3 eggs
1 <<feve>> (baby)
PREHEAT OVEN TO 400 DEGREES
- Roll out puff pastry crusts and cut each into a large circle.
- Mix almond powder, sugar, and 2 beaten eggs to obtain a creamy paste.
- Spread the almond mixture on one of the pastry crusts, leaving one free inch around the edge.
- Hide the <<feve>> and put a little almond mixture on it.
- Place the second crust on top of the other.
- Dip your finger in some milk and pinch together the edge to join.
- Using a knife, lightly trace a grid pattern on the surface of the top pastry crust. Be careful not to cut clear through.
- Beat the third egg and with a brush or paper towel, brush the top surface of the cake.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes, being careful not to let it burn.
- Allow to cool and serve warm. The person who finds the surprise is king or queen for the day. (Don’t forget to make a paper crown!)
