What a wonderful place card to complement your Thanksgiving Heritage. This is a wonderful activity for family and friends to make before dinner. Tip: If the children are really young, make several tepees ahead of time. Let the little fingers paint them and write their name on the tepee.
8-inch flour tortilla (1 tortilla will make 2 tepees)
Toothpicks (1 per tepee)
Pretzel sticks (3 per tepee)
Canned frosting (I find that a tube of Royal Icing works best.)
Food coloring (green, red, bright blue, etc.)
Paint brushes
- Cut 8-inch flour tortilla in half.
- Form each half into a cone, overlapping slightly and leaving a center top opening about 1/2 inch across.
- Secure with a toothpick.
- Dilute desired food coloring with a drop of water and use paintbrush to make designs on side of tepee.
- Dip ends of pretzel sticks in canned frosting, then insert 3 pretzels into center opening of tepee and spread slightly apart, pressing against sides of tortilla to adhere.
