COLORED PINE CONES
(To burn in the fireplace)

(Not For Eating)

1 gallon water
1 pound copper sulfate, blue-green
1/2 pound borax or boric acid, light green
1/2 pound calcium chloride, orange
1/2 potassium chloride, violet
1 pound lithium chloride, crimson
1 pound copper chloride, blue
1 pound table salt, yellow

1. In a plastic bucket, mix one gallon of water with one other ingredient.
2. Add pine cones, sticks, newspaper “flowers,” or tightly rolled sheets of newspaper – use your imagination!
3. Soak thoroughly and dry before burning.
