- Fold a sheet of each color of paper in half.
- Make 5 cuts about 3 1/2 inches long and about 1/2 inch apart straight up from the fold in each sheet.
- Cut across the top in an arc from the top of the first to the top of the last cut.
- To weave, slip the end of the first white strip through the first red strip, then the second red strip through the same white strip, then the white through the next red, and the last red through the white. Then start again on the next row with the second white strip by putting the first red strip through it, and so on.
- Construct a heart any size you wish. Line with a paper doily, and fill with cookies or candies. Punch a hole through the top and tie with a pretty bow of ribbon.
Note: Make a beautiful heart out of 3-inch wire ribbons. Place Valentine candy hearts or jelly beans in a net bag and tie. Insert into ribbon heart – beautiful on the handle of a basket.
